Picking lemons

This week we have some wonderful visitors in town. Auntie Martha and Auntie Rhona (Phil's cousin's) are here to enjoy the Hawaiian sun. On Wednesday I took the kids up to have some fun with Grandma and Aunties. Olsen really took to Auntie Rhona and wanted her to follow him everywhere.  The lemon tree was bursting with ripe lemons.

Auntie Martha was in charge of picking all the bad one and throwing them down the hill
Auntie Rhona
Gabriella was really good at taking the lemons t0 the towel
Olsen helping Auntie Rhona
And now he's helping Gabriella
Of course the scooter goes everywhere with us.  Olsen was making funny faces.
He likes to start and the top of the driveway because there is just enough incline to make perfect.
Gabriella is adopting Olsen's trike.
Gabriella had fun climbing the steps in the garden.  She also found someone's water bottle and dumped it on herself.

On Thursday Uncle Charlie gave Olsen a ride in the "tractor".  It made his day.  He couldn't stop talking about it all day.  :)

Finally, a backyard

This week we are finally getting our backyard put in. A family friend is doing it for us. So, let me tell you about the last couple of days......  Saturday Byron hooked up the palm tree to his truck and pulled that thing right out.  Well, he did have to get the shovel out help it along.  Not long after that Charlie (the landscaper) had a couple of his guys come over and take down the fence.

Before, with the fence and tree.
And now with it gone.  Yesterday we had the top soil guys bring four truck loads of dirt for us (there is no dirt at our house, only lava rock).  Here you can see him backing the truck around our house to the back.
Dirt and more dirt :)
Today Charlie came and moved the dirt to a nice even level all around.  Olsen had a good time watching Uncle Charlie in his "tractor".
So, that's it for now, will post more as it progresses.

Nothing new

I haven't taken any new pictures in the last few day, so here are some for the last month or so.

So there are four pictures of Olsen playing with his trucks, but he his so cute and had to post all.

Here they are sittin' on the coffee table watching a movie.
There is a Backyardigans (kid cartoon) were they play knights and protect a dragon egg.  Of course Olsen LOVED it and had to act it out.  He found is own shield with a pot cover (he figured that one out all on his own).  So here he is, my knight in shining armor (PJ's and all).

New Table and Hail

Last week we decided it was time to buy a little table for the kids. I was a little sad when we pack away Gabriella's high chair, but she is lovin' sitting at the table with Olsen.  I also figure this will be a great craft table for them too.
Gabriella also is getting pretty good at using a fork.
A couple of days ago we had crazy weather.  For the first time in the 4 1/2 years that I have lived here, it hailed.  It was the weirdest thing, but fun.  Here you can see the hail coming down and dotting the ground.
Here is the hail after the storm.

Flash back

I don't have any new pictures to post at the moment, so I thought I would flash back on Olsen.  His eyes are still big, steel blue and beautiful.
This is from our visit to DC Feb. 2005.  That is Monticello in the back ground.
Here we are at the Jefferson Memorial.
I remember when I took this picture I thought that Olsen was getting so big and no longer a baby.  Date:  March 3, 2005
At Akaka Falls.  This is one of my favorite pictures.  Date: April 23
And here he is today.  He is so fun.

Monday at Grandpa's house

Monday Byron's dad needed help rolling up the tarps off the trellis.  They rolled them out for the holidays during all the parties they hosted.  That way people can sit and dine on the grass and it won't matter if it's raining or not.
Olsen decided he need to help daddy and Grandpa (not a bad view from the roof)
Then decided that Grandpa needed to carry him
The cousin's set up "Rock Band" in the gym.  Olsen was singing on the microphone, but let's face it, he only wants the drum stick.
Byron showed Olsen how to ride his car all the way around the house in a circle.  He loved it.  (not a bad view from the lawn either)
Makin' the rounds......  He LOVES this car.

Sunday after dinner

After dinner on Sunday the kids wanted to go out and ride bikes. We now have the 9:00 ward and I love it. Last year it was 1:00 and it was hard.

Gabriella can now ride the trike a bit.  She can't use the peddles, but she can push with her toes.  Here Olsen is helping her out

Gabriella with a bandana

Byron and I decided that Gabriella looks more like a little lady than a baby girl in these pictures. She is my pretty girl.
