Spencer Park

Rachel and Willie went camping at the beach with their stake again this year. So Friday I took the kids and brought some lunch up to the gang. My MIL also made some home made ice cream.   It was perfect day for the beach.

Also a perfect windy day to fly a kite that didn't require me to run a mile to get it in the air.  Olsen had a good time flying it.
That is some serious concentration going on there.
Gabriella LOVES the water and the waves were really small, so she enjoyed rolling around the waves.

Olsen love the water too and is making some primal jungle yell here.
Showing off his splits

Five years ago Byron and I met for the first time. Oh, we got engaged that day too. And that is when my family started to freak out a bit. Understandably..... :) Good thing I knew what I was doing, huh?

This is our first picture together, just a couple of hours after we met,  Not engaged, yet :)
Our engagement picture taken in Amalie's back yard.
This when we went up to Michael's house in Idaho.  I was suppose to go to Zack's baptism, but I got engaged instead.
This is when I went to visit Byron in Hawaii two weeks later.

Stuff and stuff

Sorry people, it's been awhile since my last post. I've been a little computer shy lately for some reason. I have a dozen or so emails to write, but haven't. But hey, the kids have been cute the last couple of weeks.

Gabriella was just standing there resting her head on her hand.  Couldn't resist and had to take a picture (or two)

Olsen really is my funny boy.  He wanted to ride his bike while wearing his cowboy hat and he had to have the bungy cord as his rope.

He learned to set up his tracks in the hallway by hanging out at Monica's house.

Yard work

Saturday Byron was ambitious and with the help of his family start to move dirt. I mean a big mound of dirt.

Olsen had fun helping daddy fill the wheelbarrow

Gabriella had fun sneaking into our neighbors yard to play
Then decided to come back over and play in the dirt
While Olsen decided to sneak into the neighbors yard to play
All in all it was a pretty good day.  I was a little sore the next day (no, I didn't just stand around and take picture, I did help some)  Byron was a trouper and did a lot off work.  Today Charlie and the guys come over and finished it.

sleeping Olsen

The other day I was watching my friend Shannon's kids. Her daughter needed a nap so I set up the graco sleeper in my room for her. Well that night it was still up and Olsen thought it as a fun little fort and put all my pillows in it. Then he declared he was going to sleep in it. I didn't think he would really fall asleep, but when I checked on him an hour later this is what I saw. We then transfered him to his own bed.

He is so cute when he's sleeping.

The Yard

Charlie and his crew have been working on our yard this last week.  It makes me so happy to look out there and see coming together.  Hopefully they will be able to finish it this weekend.

Olsen is helping Uncle Charlie glue all the pipes together.

Yeah, the sprinklers are working.

As the soil settled, Charlie realized that we need one more truck load of soil.

Surprised to see it was Uncle Harry delivering the soil.  He is one of the old Bishops of our last ward.  Great guy, we love him.
Olsen thought the new mound of dirt was his own personal mountain to climb
King of the mountain.
And also thought it was really fun to roll down the mountain too.
Then just sit on it and throw the dirt everywhere.  I think I had to wash his hair 4 times to get all the dirt out.

On a Jet Plane

Gabriella tried desperately to get the last drops of my Red Bull.

Olsen put up a valiant effort but eventually tired himself out...for 45 minutes...which meant he was up for the other 4-1/2 hours.

Monica's house was great.  The kids had a blast.  I put all the pictures from the trip on our afakasi account because there are 60 pictures I wanted to share. Just click on the picture above and you'll be able to see the whole photo album.

The trip was so much fun.  And to top it all off, Byron surprised me by meeting me at the Sacramento airport at 5:15 in the morning to fly home with me and the kids.  He arrived at midnight and flew out with me at 6:30am.  He gets husband of the year, that's for sure.
