My favorite things

Do you want to know one of my favorite things in the whole world? I'm going to tell ya. It is the smell of Gabriella when I pick up out of bed in the morning or after a nap. After being all cozied up in her bed she only smells like baby. It only last for about 5 minutes, then the smell starts to fade a bit.  But boy, does it smell yummy.

Most day when Gabriella wakes up, Olsen likes to go in a get her.  A lot of the time he will throw toys in there and then crawl in.  He is such a good brother.

Here are a couple of picture from the previous post that I played around with.

Saturday we decided to get out of town and take a drive. It had been awhile since we've up to Hawi (pronounce Ha-vi) where it was beautiful. it is located in the north/west tip of the Big Island. There are only 4 statues of King Kamehameha, and now I've seen all 4. The is one in Honolulu, one in Hilo, one in Hawi (Kamehameha's birth place) and one in the Nations Capital in Washington DC (believe it or not, that one is the first one I saw) Anyway, the kids had fun running around the little park and checking the cool Civic center that is an old plantation house. It was closed so the kids basically had the place to themselves.
Here are the million and one pictures we got of the kids.

Friday night

Friday night we went to dinner at our friends house. I guess they're kind of related to us on the Tongan side. Great people, we love them. The kids are super kids and loved playing with Olsen and Gabriella. They are in our ward and the Dad, Oke, serves in the Bishopric with Byron and Trish, the mom, is the Primary Pres and I'm one of her councilors.  So we will be spending a lot of time together.

Blake, their oldest, was a sport and pushed the kids around.
Tanner swimming in the kind of cold pool
Oke BBQing some good steaks
Blake still pushing them around
Gabriella wants her mama
Grass, where are you.  I'm not kidding, it's taking forever.

Bath time

After getting a voice mail from my mom that I'm slacking on posting pictures, I took a couple of the kids last night while taking a bath. I could not get the two to look at the camera at the same time.

Oh wait, here they are looking at the same time.  Too bad they are making weird faces.
The other day Olsen pulled out the pot lids to use as a shield, but then realized they make great shoes.

grass update

Okay, my mom loves to see yard updates. Here you can start to see some green fuzz here and there.   I wish the grass can grow over night.  I'm sure we've got two months before the kids can play on it.  Hopefully one day we will get a fence too.  Then I really can let the kids go wild back there.

Sunday

After conference on Sunday (it's gets over at noon here) we decided to take the kids to the Hilton Waikoloa because the there was a new baby dolphin born. The hotel is huge and you can get around by at little train/tram and by boat. Olsen loves boats so we did a lap around the hotel in a boat. After the boat ride we walked over to the dolphin exhibit and Olsen told us the baby dolphin was "cute". It was nice little excursion for the kids and I love walking around that hotel too.

All the pictures are from the boat ride because the battery died. Sorry no cute dolphin pictures. :)

Tumbling Bears

We've signed Olsen and Gabriella up for a tumbling class on Saturday mornings. And oh my goodness do they love it. The teachers are great and have it all set up for little ones to have a blast and burn off some energy. So many different beams to do airplane and trampolines to jump like a crazy man. Of course Olsen gets more than Gabriella, but she enjoys it just the same.

Here they are chasing bubbles around at the start of class
The teacher is assisting Olsen to do a summersault, but he ain't havin' it.
But Gabriella did.
Olsen swinging to his heart content.
As Gabriella was holding on to bars, the teacher said "peek-a-boo" and Gabriella immediately took her hands off the bar and covered her eyes.  So cute.

18 month check up

Gabriella just had her 18 month check up. She weights 23.75 pounds which puts her in the 50% and I forgot her height, but she is in the 95% on that chart. That means she is tall and lean. She is also a crazy climber girl that tries to do everything her brother does. The girl has a million bruises. I swear, sometimes she has more purple skin that regular color skin.

Here she is a couple of hours old in the hospital

Grass

There's grass in them there dirt. Yes, the grass is starting to grow. It has taken forever, but it's starting to pop up.

Oh, and Gabriella likes to play dress-up with my shoes.
